Fire Force manga enters the final chapter

Ohkubo previously hinted in the author's comment to the 23rd manga volume in May 2020 that the manga was in its final phase, and that he plans on Fire Force as his last manga.

Kodansha's Fire Force series began as a weekly in shonen magazine in September 2015, and the manga has over 17 million copies in circulation worldwide. The manga's 31st issue will be published on Friday in English, and the story describes:

Terror has paralyzed Tokyo around the clock! People began storming demons, creating a special firefighting team: Fire Force, ready to go off at any moment to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might explode. The team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy with the unique power of running at rocket speed, leaving behind the famous "devil's footprints" (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can the power of fire discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put an end to it? Or will the city burn first?

The manga inspired an anime television series that premiered in July 2019. The series had a “second season” that premiered in July 2020 and ran for 24 episodes.

Funimation aired the TV anime on its FunimationNow streaming service, and aired an English-language segment. The anime portal also broadcast the series. The anime premiered on the site in July 2019, and the second season premiered in October 2020.
