Takayama Minami, Koyama Rikiya, and Hosoya Yoshimasa, who play two roles in “Conan” and “YAIBA” will be appearing in the stages and play live dubbing! AJ2025 collaboration stage report discussing the highlights of the new release
Welcome back to the I Am Anime website
A special collaboration stage between the movie Detective Conan: One-Eyed Afterimage (Flashback of Czech Cancer) and the TV anime “Shin Samurai Den YAIBA” was held at AnimeJapan 2025 on March 23rd, 2025. The main cast members of both works, including Takayama Minami, Yamazaki Kazuna, Koyama Rikiya, Iwami Manaka, and Hosoya Yoshimasa, will be appearing in the stages. The stage report has just arrived.

The stages held this time were presented in collaboration between the movie Detective Conan: One-Eyed Afterimage, which will be released nationwide from April 18th, and the TV anime “Shin Samurai Den: YAIBA,” which will begin airing at 5:30pm on April 5th. The two most popular works by Aoyama Gosho have become a place where they can perform together in their dreams, beyond the boundaries.
In addition to the cast members, Conan costumes and blade costumes will also be appearing at this event. In addition to the cast members discussing the highlights and charms of both works, a message video by the original author, Aoyama Gosho, was also shown. In addition, a new promotion for “Detective Conan” and “YAIBA” has been released. Yamazaki Kazuna x Iwami Manaka, who will be responsible for “Aoyama Gosho Hour,” and Koyama Rikiya x Hosoya Yoshimasa, will voice the promotional footage through live dubbing.
In addition, the scenes that are unique to the collaboration stage will unfold, including behind-the-scenes stories of Takayama Minami, who played the main character in the film.
As the audience was engulfed with enormous applause, the voice actors of Detective Conan, including Takayama Minami, who plays Edogawa Conan and Tetsuba, Yamazaki Kazuna, who plays Mouri Ran, and Koyama Rikiya, who plays Mouri Kogoro, as well as the main cast members of “Shin Samurai Densetsu YAIBA,” including Iwami Manaka, who plays Mine Sayaka, and Hosoya Yoshimasa, who plays Onimaru Takeshi, took the stage. In addition, Conan costumes and blade costumes also appear. Takayama greeted the audience with, “Good morning, everyone! Are you ready to enjoy it! Today I would like to take advantage of both Conan and YAIBA works and make it even more lively.” The excitement in the venue suddenly reached a peak.
The event began with a line familiar to Detective Conan, where Takayama says, “The truth is always there,” and the audience says, “One thing!” With this as a signal, the PV for the movie Detective Conan: One-Eyed Afterimage was displayed on the screen, and audiences were excited, and three key theme songs for this film were announced: King Gnu, “Strong Action,” and “Kogoro, who never sleeps.”
First of all, when he mentioned that the theme song for this work, King Gnu’s “TWILIGHT!!!”, had received a lot of feedback from fans, Takayama said, “I think it’s a little different from the adult atmosphere of this work. I was thinking it would make for a more moist song, but it has a really beat-sounding feel and makes my heart thrills maxim,” and when he first heard it, he recalls his shock. Yamazaki continued, “The theme song for the movie version up until now was lyrics that suited someone else’s feelings, but this time it was really cool. I was so moved.”
Regarding the impressive action scenes that were also shown in the music video, which are one of the highlights of this film, Takayama said, “Last year, young people were performing fresh action, but this year it’s a bitter story for adults,” and said he hopes they will also pay attention to the scale of the action, which is a little different from before.
And Kogoro, one of the main characters in this film, also shows memorable scenes that shed tears in the music video. In response to this, Koyama commented, “It’s rare for Kogoro to act on his own, so when Kogoro is active, Conan is always there. This year marks Kogoro’s performance once every 20 years, so Kogoro did his best on his own, so please take a look.” He also spoke to the audience looking forward to the theatrical release, saying, “Kogoro has secret skills other than judo, so please be sure to keep an eye on it.”

Next, as Takayama was called and responses of “YAIBA” and the audience was called “Yabi!”, the music video for the TV anime “Shin Samurai Den: YAIBA” was on screen. The three keywords announced for this work are “the characters are crazy”, “the anime and illustrations are crazy”, and “the setting is modern and dangerous”.
Regarding the many unique characters that appear, Takayama commented, “There are a lot of characters who move according to their instincts. There are a lot of very straightforward characters, such as what I want the most, what I want the most, what I want the most.”
Next, regarding the powerful anime drawings created by WIT STUDIO, Hosoya said, “I’ve never done any action films that involve flashy vibration-like techniques, so I really valued my loud voice. I’m giving out loud voices together with Takayama-san,” and discussed the dubbing process, saying that Takayama also enjoyed recording the dubbing with Hosoya. Hosoya continued, “Even when I do the tests, actual performances, and retakes, my voice doesn’t change at all. I’m so excited that I might not be able to make the same sound,” and “It’s a great feeling to the great senior and I’m learning.”
Then we went to the “Conan x YAIBA Common Points Quiz” section. The questions were asked, “Edogawa Conan and the iron blade. Both are living in the house! What was the reason?” Once the cast members finished writing their answers to Flip, the original author, Aoyama Gosho, appears on the screen.
Aoyama greeted the audience with the words, “Do you all enjoy the collaboration stage?” and announced the correct answer to the quiz. The answer was revealed, “There’s no reason. It’s just a coincidence,” and the audience was filled with surprise and laughter. Aoyama continued by sending a message to the audience, saying, “Thank you for coming to the collaboration stage. I hope everyone enjoyed it. I hope you continue to support Conan and YAIBA.”
In addition, a new version of the collaboration between Detective Conan and Shin Samurai Den YAIBA has been unveiled for the first time. First, a new promotional campaign for Conan and Haya, with Takayama playing two roles, is introduced on the screen, livening up the venue. The voice actors then performed live dubbing of Ran and Sayaka, Kogoro and Onimaru’s new releases at the venue.
Yamazaki, who performed the dubbing in front of the audience along with the promotional footage of the new version, said, “It was fun and I was happy to be able to do it together,” and Iwami also said, “I never thought I could say lines in a live unison, so I was really happy too.” The two revealed that they had consulted each other in the dressing room.
Hosoya then said, “I thought the final line would fit perfectly, but it did. It’s really amazing, thank you!” Koyama also commented, “I was looking at your eyes properly,” and replied with joy in the audience, “Yes!”
As the event continues to get excited, it reaches the end. Takayama said, “We would like to deliver both Conan and YAIBA that are homely and fun. Please continue to support us from now on,” and he greeted the audience with a deep greet.
And the finale is the call and response, just like at the beginning of the event. After Takayama’s “The Truth is Always,” the audience yelled, “I’m a Samurai!”, and the event ended in a great success, with the venue united.
The movie “Detective Conan: One-Eyed Afterimage” will be released nationwide from April 18th. The TV anime “Shin Samurai Den YAIBA” will begin airing nationwide on Yomiuri TV and Nippon Television from 5:30pm on April 5th.
