“Chi.” The origin of Uotoyo, “Hyakuem.” starring Matsuzaka Tori and Sometani Shota! Theatrical anime to be released on September 19th

Theatrical feature film anime “Hyakuemu.” The release date for ” has been set for September 19th, 2025. It has also been revealed that the cast will be starring Matsuzaka Tori as Togashi, a “talented” type who is born fast and fast, and Sometani Shota will be starring in the role of Komiya, a “effort” type who gets into the 100m after meeting Togashi. Additionally, a special report and teaser visual were unveiled, with excitement running through the screen at top speed.

“Hyakuem. ” is also made into an anime. This is a feature-length theatrical anime based on the debut serialized work of Uoyoro, the youngest person in history to win the Manga Award for “Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award” for “On Earth Movements.” This film depicts the madness and passion of those who are fascinated by the 100m fleeting momentary brilliance of less than 10 seconds in the world of track and field. It attracted many sympathies and surprises, saying, “It makes my heart warm” and “I’ve never felt in sports manga,” and even after it was completed, it gained enthusiastic popularity.

The director is Iwaizawa Kenji, a promising creator who has received high praise for numerous film awards both in Japan and abroad, including nomination for the Annie Award, which is renowned for the “Academy Award in the Anime World” for his first feature film, Music. This film was also selected as “Work in Progress” at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival held in France in June 2024, and is already attracting attention from around the world.
In addition, the script will be written by Muto Yasuyuki, who also wrote the theatrical anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway of Flash. The character design and general animation director are Kojima Keisuke, who has been active in a wide range of fields, storyboards, and directions for popular works such as the TV anime “Funeral Frelen,” and the music is done by Tsutsumi Hiroaki, who has worked on TV anime “Jujutsu Kaisen.”

The release date for this film has been decided, and it has been revealed that Matsuzaka Tori and Sometani Shota will be starring together. This will be the first time the two have appeared together in 14 years since “Antokinoichi.”

Togashi, played by Matsuzaka, is a “talented” character who is born fast and has gained a “friend” and “place to belong” as a matter of course. On the other hand, Komiya, played by Someya, is a transfer student who just keeps running wildly to escape from the painful reality. After meeting Togashi, he becomes even more involved in 100m running, and is a “effort-effort” character, and he plays a role in contrast to Togashi. Comments have also been received from Matsuzaka and Someya.

The teaser visual unveiled with the announcement shows Togashi looking straight ahead and Komiya wearing competition clothes and looking down at her feet. Although they are next to each other, they are not in the same space. Through the 100m, the quiet and passionate fighting spirit of the two, who can be considered rivals or best friends, can be conveyed.

The special video captures Togashi and Komiya as they continue to run as they grow into elementary school, high school, and working adults. The two meet together along with a fast-paced song, and the athletes competing in action. The players’ expressions are not uniformly refreshing, but sometimes harsh and troubled, and the determination to put themselves in a world of competition where 0.001 seconds divide your life.
Togashi shows his ease, saying, “I’ll let you win again today,” Komiya mutters back, “Yes, do your best.” How do the contrasting two people relate to and what kind of scenery will they see beyond <100m>. The copy, “It’s all for that moment,” shows the madness and passion of the two main characters who are captivated by the instantaneous 100m shine and are pursuing their lives.

Matsuzaka Tori

As I read the original work, I felt the characters breathing, the sound of cutting through the wind, the sound of their feet running down the ground, sweat and body temperature. It was my first experience. Above all, I was shaken by the conflicts of each and every player and the delicate subtleties of my heart, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. I was honored and at the same time felt an incredible pressure to be able to participate in such an animated film called “Hyakuem.” It will be the first time in 14 years that I have co-starred with Someya, and I was very happy.
The Komiya played by Someya was truly Komiya. I hope this is a work that conveys the sounds, sweat, and body temperature that you felt from the original work. Please look forward to it.

Sometani Shota

When I read the original work by Uotoyo, I felt a sense of dynamism like I was cutting through the wind, as if I could hear the sound of running through a 100m run that I shouldn’t have heard. I was captivated by the fact that if I put that into animation, it would definitely be an interesting work. Komiya has a humanity that makes her feel ahead of herself and loses sense of where she is, and it resonates with me too. I played the role carefully so that the viewers can breathe in the air.
