An anime of Kawahara Kazune’s latest work, “A Star Durable Than the Sun,” which was released by “My Tale!!” and “Teacher!”, will begin airing in October! Cast: Fujiji Minoru and Ono Yuki

It has been announced that the TV anime “Stars Brighter than the Sun” will be broadcast on TBS from October 2025. A teaser visual and PV have also been released along with the announcement. It has also been revealed that Fujiji Minoru will play Iwata Sakuhide and Ono Yuki will play Kamishiro Mitsuteru, and comments have been received.

“Stars Brighter than the Sun” is based in “My Tale!!” (illustrated by Arco), “High School Debut” and “Teacher!” “This is Kawahara Kazune’s latest work, with many of his works being a media mix. It is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret, and as of April 2025, the comic has sold over 2.75 million copies.
Iwata Sakuhide, a girl slightly stronger than average, fell in love with the smile of the weak boy Kamishiro Mitsuteru when she was in elementary school. However, when Kamishiro was a slender and small man, he grew into a refreshing, handsome man and became a distant figure. Meanwhile, as they join us at the final sports festival for junior high school, their first love, which has been kept deep inside, begins to move.

The teaser visual, which was released with the announcement of the start of the broadcast, depicts Sakuei and Kamishiro staring at each other at a desk away in the classroom. The design is impressive with the expressions of the two who seem a little embarrassed.

The teaser PV also begins with Sakuhide looking back on her memories of Kamishiro when she was in elementary school. From the slightly larger image of Sakuei carrying a school bag on his back and the weak Kamijo, he overlaps the current Kamijo, which many of whom are growing up, that I think is generally cool. The film depicts Sakuhide, who has loved Kamishiro since he was in elementary school, once tried to give up on his first love, but following the voice in his heart, he begins to run towards his love for Kamishiro again, along with fresh images.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that Fujiji Minoru will play the role of Iwata Sakuhide, and Ono Yuki will play the role of Kamishiro Mitsuteru. Fujiji commented about this work, “All the characters in the film are attractive, and the warm and sparkling world view captured me and made me feel very kind. The monologue of Sakuei-chan, which makes me feel more touched in my heart, is also very attractive, and the more I feel the shaking of my heart is delicate, and the more I get to feel a sense of kindness and honesty, and the more I get to feel intimate, the more I get to feel about Kamishiro-kun with all my might.”

Regarding the role of Kamishiro Mitsuteru, who he plays, “I actually lived in Sapporo when I was in elementary school, and it seems that a certain place in the story is within my life range at the time, so I felt a great sense of affinity. However, the Kamishiro I will be playing is not just a sparkling prince, but more than anything, how can I deliver Kamishiro, who is in the middle of my youth, in the voice of my unfazed voice? I would like to continue to do my best when I auditioned, saying, “Ono-san, you can also take this direction!”

Q1. Could you tell us about the appeal of this work?

When I read the original work, all the characters featured were attractive, and the warm and sparkling worldview captured my heart and made me feel very kind. The monologue of Sakuei, which makes your heart melt deeper, is also very attractive, and the delicate trembling of his heart is seen, and the more you touch Sakuei’s inner self, the more you feel the inner thoughts of Kamishiro, the more you want to support him with all your might as he continues to devote himself to his dedication to Kamishiro.

Q2. Could you please tell us your enthusiasm when playing Iwata Sakuhide?

Sakuei’s words, which she thinks about and then communicates to others, are truly wonderful, and I feel that they are packed with compassion and kindness. I love the words that come out of Sakuei, her emotional inner feelings, her suppleness, and her occasional expressions, both of which she sees eating deliciously. During the recording, I was in high school, so I was conscious of life-size and treated Sakuhide to me carefully, trying to express the delicate fluctuations of my heart.

Ono Yuki

Q1. Could you tell us about the appeal of this work?

When I first read the original work, when I first started talking, I was so captivated that it could spoil everything. The storyline covers Sakuhide’s personality, interactions with his friends, and Kamishiro’s sparkly and life-sized side, all of which make you wonder, “What will the rest be like?!” There are still many more charms, so if you’re interested, we hope you will be able to experience the world of Tamahoshi.

Q2. Could you please tell us your enthusiasm when playing Kamishiro Mitsuteru?

I actually lived in Sapporo when I was in elementary school, and it seems that a place that appears in the story is within my living area at the time, so I felt a great sense of affinity. However, the role of Kamishiro I will be playing is not just a sparkling prince, but more than anything, how can I deliver Kamishiro, who is in the middle of youth, in my voice, as I am amazed. I would like to continue to do my best with the words that were said to me during my audition, “Ono-san, I can also take this direction!” as my lifeline.
