“The Old Man in the Countryside Becomes a Sword Saint” is an anime based on a novel by author Sagasaki Shigeru and illustrator Nabeshima Tetsuhiro. The original is a popular series with a total of over 7 million copies sold, and the story follows middle-aged swordsman Beryl Gardenant (CV: Hirata Hiroaki), who is a dojo in a remote countryside, and is appointed as a special guide to the Kingdom Knights, with the encouragement of his former disciple, and ends up facing various powerful enemies.
