Episode 305: Kirakki Run together~♪ ~You and Idol PreCure♪~

Welcome back to the I Am Anime website
It’s a belly-wrapped cat. Finally, finally, finally! The soundtrack and album for “Kimi to Idol PreCure♪” will be released on May 28th! This work is a mix of PreCure and idol stories, and shows unexpected developments like never before. What makes this a hit is the music that is full of sparkling charm. The soundtrack release date is the day after this column is uploaded, but some people may have already released it (Flying). This time, let’s check the contents as quickly as possible.
“You and Idol PreCure♪” is a TV anime that has been airing since February 2025. This is the 22nd installment in the PreCure series produced by Toei Animation.
Idol PreCure is the legendary savior who saves the world from Dark Eene, who tries to make the world pitch dark. One day, Sakura Uta, a middle school student who loves to sing, meets the mysterious fairy Purirun and gains the power to transform into a Cure Idol. Aokaze Nana and Shia Kokoro, who attend the same junior high school, have both transformed into Cure Wink and Cure Kyun Kyun Kyun Kyun Kyun Kyun The three of them become Idol PreCure, join forces to confront the ambitions of Dark Eine and her subordinates.
Meanwhile, when Purirun uploaded a PreCure video on social media, Idol PreCure attracted public attention and finally made her debut as a real idol. The three members of Idol PreCure will also expand their activities as idols, appearing in commercials, making CD debuts, and handshake events.
In the past, PreCure has been active as a singer and idol with her true face, but this is her first time transforming into an idol. When Idol PreCure defeats a monster (in this work, it is described as “to make it a sparkly run”) the key move is singing (called a “stage song”). The song is also a song that will be used when working as an idol, and will be released as a CD (which viewers can buy). What’s unique about the setting of this work is that it is impressive to see how it links fiction and reality.
In addition, in this work, the scenes of Uta transforming into PreCure just to become idols are depicted on a daily basis. This is another taste that is not found in the previous PreCure series. The idol elements are more of the core of this work than I expected.
The music was co-initiated by Fukasawa Erika and Mase Misaki. Fukasawa Erika says, “Floor Sky!” PreCure’ and “Wanda Furupurikyuua!” Following on from “, he is in charge of the music for the third installment in the PreCure series. This is the first time that Mase Misaki has been in charge of the soundtracks for the PreCure series, but she has participated in the series in the past by writing and arranging character songs and insert songs, and has a track record of creating soundtracks such as “The Gentleman’s Salad Bowl,” which she previously featured in this column. The fun part is that music reflects the views of the two idols plays throughout the play.
The music is created by Fukasawa in charge of the main theme, PreCure transformation songs, battle songs, and enemy themes, while Mase is mainly responsible for everyday songs, emotional songs and stage songs.
Fukasawa Erika, who has previously served as the music director for stage plays such as “Spirited Away,” seems to have imagined an idol who is active on a gorgeous stage. The main theme is a lively big band jazz-style sound with a female chorus, creating a gorgeous song reminiscent of a Broadway musical. PreCure’s transformation theme and main themes of exploits are also created with similar musical ideas.
On the other hand, the important song that Mase Misaki performs is the stage song sung by PreCure. Each of the three PreCures is in charge of composing and arrangeting the songs they sing solo and the songs they sing together. While struggling with the difficult demands that it be a character song, an idol song in the movie and a decisive technique for PreCure, he created a pop and catchy song that will leave you with your ears once you listen to it. The daily music with the soundtrack is also a song that plays idol-like cuteness and friendlyness with a modern sound. In fact, Mase himself has been watching the PreCure series since he was a child. That’s why it seems that he naturally acquires the points of songs that are typical of PreCure.
The soundtrack and album for this work will be released by Marvelous on May 28th, 2025 under the title “You and Idol PreCure♪ Original Soundtrack PreCure Glitter Sound!!”. There are CDs and streaming, but the CD comes with a booklet featuring interviews with Fukasawa Erika and Mase Misaki, so it is recommended for enthusiastic fans.

The content includes two theme songs, four stage songs, 30 music songs, and trailer music. The author was responsible for the composition.
The general flow of the album is that the first half will see PreCure increase one by one, and three idol PreCures come together. The second half is an image of the three of them working together to confront the enemy that is powered up and attacking, and then victory. We created a structure that was sprinkled with everyday songs, emotional songs, character themes, and more.
Here are some highlights to listen to this album.
The first song, “You and Kirakki Run♪” is the main theme of this work. It’s a dynamic song that makes your body move in no time. The sound of the sax gives off a slightly more mature atmosphere. Apparently the saxophone was ordered by a music producer. The four songs that appear later, “Open the Door of Courage” (track 12), “See You at Hanamichi Town” (track 17), “Sing, Dance, Fans, Heart” (track 31), and “Together with You” (track 35) are arranged as the main themes.
With the opening theme song, “The Palette of the Sun” (track 3) and “Sakura-iro Tea Time” (track 5) are selected songs inspired by the daily lives of Uta and the others. The bright and light melody suits the mood of this work. In this work, the song title for the soundtrack has been changed from before, making it a title that looks like an idol song.
Following the jazz-style song “Chokkiri Dan” (track 6) that always plays in the scene where the hideout of the Hokkiri Dan is, “The Savior Who Lights the Darkness” (track 7) is played in the first episode where Purirun explains PreCure in a song. It’s a song that reminds you of the epic fantasy world.
Track 8 “PreCure! Light Up! (Short version)” is the version for a one-person transformation, the transformation theme of PreCure. This unique musical thoughts are typical of this work, as it evokes the excitement and enthusiasm that idols take off on stage. There are several types of transformation themes available: one person, two person, three person, etc.
Track 9, “Unison of Smiles♪ ~PreCure! Idol Smiling!” is a Cure Idol stage song. This is the in-game version of the full-size “Unison of Smiles♪” reduced to 40 seconds.
Tracks 11 to 16 are designed to imagine Cure Wink and Cure Kyun Kyun Kyun becoming PreCure one by one.
“When I Sink in Memories” (track 11) is a heartwarming song that was played in the flashback scene of Nana in episode 3. The next song, “Open the Door of Courage” (track 12), was also used in episode 3 just before Nana became PreCure. This song depicts courage and determination, essential to the PreCure series, and was used not only for Nana, but also for Uta and Kokoro transforming for the first time.
Track 14’s “Aspiration is Unstoppable” is a song that expresses dreams in a romantic way in a slightly exaggerated way. The song was chosen based on the image of the heart, but in reality it often plays in the scene of the fairy Meloron, who appears in earnest in episode 12.
The next song, “Find Idol PreCure!” (track 15), is a light funk-style song that has been used in the first episode, with Purirun and Uta searching for Idol PreCure in town. The bright and bursting atmosphere of the main story is conveyed.
Another highlight is that the Cure Wink and Cure Kyun Kyun stage songs recorded on tracks 13 and 16 are tuned and arranged to reflect the characters of each character.
The program proceeds to the second half with the daily song “Meet Me at Hanamichi Town” (track 17) with the main theme arrangements and the eye-catching song “Idol Catch♪” (track 18).
The second half begins with fantasy and humorous songs.
Track 19 “The World of Light” is a beautiful song with sparkling sounds. It is used in a warm scene that touches your heart, such as the scene in episode 10 where Cure Kyun Kyun shakes hands with a girl who is a fan.
Truck 20 “I am Picarine” is the theme of Picarine, Queen of Girakiland, the fairy land where Pilrun was. It is a song with a mysterious mood, made with flute, harp, strings, and more.
From track 21 “That Girl’s Secret” to track 23 “Puripuriruunrun~♪” we have collected comical songs using distinctive rhythms and sounds. All of them are often chosen for scenes like Purirun and Song.
Track 24, “Spreading Glitter” is frequently used in scenes where Prirun and Meloron appear. It’s a cute song with string pizzicato and woodwinds.
From Truck 25, a sudden turn of events begins to appear.
“Sign of Darkness” (track 25), where the ensemble of strings and harp gradually grows, is a suspense song with a sense of “continuing in the second half, with tension in place!”
After two songs in a row, “Let’s make the world a blinding darkness” (track 26), which is filled with a sense of crisis that plays out in the scene where the enemy monsters appear, and “Let’s make PreCure Kirakki Run Run” (track 27), which depicts PreCure’s determination to counter it in a powerful melody, the transformation theme of the three of them, “PreCure! Light Up!” (track 28), depicts the appearance of Idol PreCure.
From tracks 29 to track 32, we tried to recreate PreCure’s battles with a whirlwind selection of songs.
Track 29 “The Fierce Battle Prelude” and track 30 “The Heat Battle Stage” are classic songs that play in the PreCure vs. Monster battle scenes. The image of an idol is sparse, and it emphasizes a sense of speed, tension and coolness. The previous work, “Wanda Furupurikyuua!” ‘ was “PreCure, which doesn’t attack,” so it seems like this has been a revival of a passionate battle song this year for the first time in a while.
Track 31, “Sing, Dance, Fans, Heart” is a song that plays the main theme arrangement of PreCure. The big band sound and female chorus combine to create action music that is brilliant, refreshing and dynamic. It’s great to start with a sudden female chorus!
And track 32, “Trio Dreams ~PreCure! High Emotion!!”, is a stage song sung by the three PreCure members. It’s nice that it’s the same song as the ending theme song. This is true for all stage songs, but this song is also designed to allow viewers to participate in a call and response. I hope you will cheer them up while watching TV.
The three songs, tracks 33 to 35, were selected based on the image of the epilogue. I carefully thought out the structure of the three people’s feelings: Uta, Nana, and Kokoro.
As the title suggests, “Dreamy Color Tokimeki” (track 33) is a song that expresses excitement. It is used in moving scenes where Uta and Nana start walking on stage in episode 3, and Kokoro celebrate their birthday in episode 14.
“Let’s Run along the Road by the River” (Track 34) is a liberating song with a light rhythm and melody on the violin, piano and guitar. It’s an image of a refreshing scene from youth.
“Together with You” (track 35) is a moist arrangement song with the main theme. The gentle tones of the piano and strings express friendship and family love. The song ends quietly without getting any more exciting than necessary. This song has a lingering aftertaste. We also tried to contrast the gentle melody with the danceable sound of the next ending song (track 36).
The final track 37, “Today with you! Kirakki Run Run~♪” is the next episode preview music, edited from the opening theme song, karaoke. The song title is a phrase that is used to close out the preview every time.
This album was composed of an image that was bright and fun, like an idol movie, but at the end it was a gentle, heart-warming experience. You don’t have to think about difficult things. It doesn’t have to be serious. But I hope something important will remain in my heart. The important thing in this work is probably to become a sparkling run. A sparkly run is said to be “sparkling, running, smiling” (from the lines in the song in the first episode). PreCure is active because he wants to make everyone around him, his enemies, and himself, sparkly. If anyone who listens to this soundtrack would become a sparkling run, I would also like to see it (Shiracking Run Run). Come on, you too! A sparkling run~♪
