Shibayama Tsutomu’s Work Story 5th Hongo Mitsuru (Director) – Additional note

Welcome back to the I Am Anime website
Oguro pointed out that my interview was a bit bland, so I’ll give you an episode like this.
◯When I was near Shibayama and I was asking everything, I asked him, “Did you not see Miyazaki’s works?” and he said, “I won’t see them,” but one day, Shibayama said he had a strange dream and asked him, “What was it?” and he said, “There was Miyazaki’s storyboard on it, so when I picked it up, the drawings in the storyboard were moving…” When Hongo heard this, he thought, “I was conscious after all.”
◯When I was working at Asiado, I had company trips every year, and when I heard Shibayama, who had been drinking in Oita, said, “We all stopped by and ruined my storyboards!”, Hongo thought, “I thought so…” These two episodes are interesting, so as I was talking about them, but before I knew it, the people around me seemed to have assumed that they had heard of them directly from Shibayama. It’s an episode that makes sense to the point of remembering that you heard it directly. I heard it directly!
◯After quitting Asiado, I finally realized how great Shibayama was, and I held several “Mr. Surrounding Master” meetings, and once Shibayama told me, “Hongo-kun’s style of play looks similar to me” (I think it’s not about his work, but about his stance on a variety of things), which made me feel a little happy.
◯ It’s been more than 10 years since Shibayama Tsutomu left the animation scene. Before I knew it, I had also entered the so-called old age after 42 years of directing. If that happens, no one will actually know about Shibayama’s achievements in Japanese animation history soon. Scary, scary, scary (lol). I couldn’t find anyone else, so I was presumptuous and tried to come out a little. I think Shibayama is probably saying, “Hongo-kun will do something unnecessary again.” Sorry Shibayama-san.
◯Asiado’s company trip there was a gesture game for entertainment, and the theme that Shibayama created was “Hongo-kun brings stool cats to the office and feeds them” (sweat).
