The science fiction anime “AS ONE” will be released in August by director Shizuno Kofumi and character designer Sadamoto Yoshiyuki! Special announcement

The animated feature film “AS ONE”, directed by Shizuno Kofumi, the movie “Detective Conan” and character design by Sadamoto Yoshiyuki of “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, has been decided to be released in theaters on August 22, 2025. Along with this, a special video has been unveiled that depicts the fateful encounter between You, a high school student on Earth, and Lako, a girl from “Meguriboshi” who would never meet.

“AS ONE” is a feature-length animated film directed by Shizuno Kofumi, who has been in charge of the same series since the 15th film in the movie “Detective Conan: Silent 15 Minutes”, and who earned the number one Japanese film gross in 2017 for “Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Song.” Sadamoto Yoshiyuki, who is active at the forefront of animator and manga artist, and is also involved in popular anime such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and Summer Wars, is known as one of Japan’s leading creators.

Production began based on the arcade game “The Paradox of the Stars and Wings,” and follows the setting and worldview, and depicts a completely original story created with the production team and screenwriter based on Director Shizuno’s concept. All the characters were newly set, and Sadamoto was in charge of character design, just like in the original work.

The special video that was unveiled shows You, a high school student living on Earth, and Lako, a girl who lives as a robot mechanic on the star “Meguriboshi” that exists beyond space. One day, Laco took off on a plane that was under maintenance to save his fellow Vigo, who rushed to the fall of a giant orbital debris, but was in an accident and was in a close brink. In Lako’s “a world of consciousness” in a coma, Lako meets You and her destiny across dimensions.

The special report features beautiful images of You and Laco reaching out to each other in Laco’s consciousness, a powerful scene of Laco piloting the aircraft, Vigo receiving an order, and You running profile, along with beautiful images, and you can also see a robot (pull guard) in the sky of the Star.

It has also been revealed that the mechanic design will be handled by Katabe Ippei, who also works in Gundam G’s Reconguista. Two people live at different stars and different times. Where will this fate, which was not supposed to intersect, head?
